On Monday, which brought great relief to the State Sylab Students, the new formula of the Normalization of the KEAM brand approved the state engineering examination.
The aim of the decision is to ensure equal conditions for utilities from the state curriculum and to deal with long -term concern that they were at a disadvantage compared to their counterparts from national councils, such as the Central Council of the Secondary Examination (CBSE) and the Indian certificate of secondary education (ICSE).
The revised formula, allegedly modeled in the approach adopted for engineering adoption in Tamil Nadu, was required by long -term complaints that students from the state reports lose about 15 to 20 stamps in the process of normalization when combined with higher secondary stamps, especially for key entities such as physics, chemistry and mathematics.
Five proposals
In March, an expert committee composed of statistics and academics reported a report that indicated five proposals. The Cabinet has accepted one of the proposed changes on the recommendation of the Commissioner for Admission Examination.
Within the new system, the stamps obtained by students will be compared to the corresponding brands acquired by students in the State Council by the agreed method of normalization during the qualifying examination (higher secondary or equivalent).
For example, if the highest mark of mathematics is within the Keral State 100/100 curriculum and the highest mark provided by students of any other council in the same subject is 95/100, both will be adjusted to 100/100 for normalization.
In addition, the KEAM score is calculated by assigning the same weight (50:50) to a normalized score obtained at the entrance exam and degree or brands secured at the last annual qualification test. The subject-wise contribution of the marks from the qualification test will follow the 5: 3: 2 ratio for mathematics, physics and chemistry.
Waiting for results
The decision comes at a time when students are anxiously waiting for the results of the Keam, especially when there were other results of the entrance examination. This year, the KEAM for Kam for Engineering and Pharmacy Courses took place from 23 to 29 April. The results were published a month after exploring last year.
