
The Advanced Computing Development Center (C-DAC), a scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), on Tuesday (March 17) unveiled a set of advanced digital platforms and intelligent systems covering cyber security, healthcare, industrial automation, environmental monitoring and digital management, along with several cloud products.
Celebrating the 39th Dayat Foundation of CSIR – Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), with a special focus on indigenous technologies of the future, the institute also formalized numerous strategic collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations and industrial partners across the country.
These partnerships are to accelerate innovation, commercialization and capacity building in areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, smart cities, health technology, advanced computing and climate solutions, according to C-DAC CEO E. Magesh.
Former Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Chairman S. Somanath congratulated C-DAC for its “phenomenal work” in critical technology areas, including advanced computing, cyber security and space technology. He emphasized the need to adapt to emerging trends and called for stronger industry collaboration and a refocus on digital self-sufficiency.
Speaking online, MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan said C-DAC has consistently achieved impressive achievements in advanced computer missions. CSIR-IICT Director D. Srinivasa Reddy, Tata Electronics CEO and Managing Director Randhir Thakur and others were present at the event.
A technology demonstration exhibition was also launched where C-DAC research and development teams showcased a number of innovative products and solutions. The two-day event is expected to serve as an important platform for knowledge exchange, innovation and strategic discussions on the advancement of India’s indigenous technology ecosystem. A series of expert meetings on advanced and emerging technologies is scheduled for Wednesday. According to a press release, the event is open to researchers, working professionals and engineering students.
