The Center for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) announced on Tuesday the expansion and expansion of its collaboration with Agilent Technologies, which specializes in cutting-edge bioanalytical and biotechnology platforms.
C-CAMP said the second phase of this partnership will expand shared access to advanced analytical capabilities and mass spectrometry-based capabilities that will support life sciences and therapeutics research in India.
The expanded collaboration focuses on making available high-resolution analytical platforms through the shared C‑CAMP infrastructure that supports applications such as biotherapeutic characterization, oligonucleotide research, and quantitative biomolecular analysis.
He added that the model is designed to give researchers from startups, academia and industry access to advanced analytical workflows and deep scientific know-how without the need for direct capital investment in specialized equipment or facilities.
Through this collaboration, Agilent and C‑CAMP aim to help lower barriers to entry and promote reliable, reproducible science across the R&D continuum.
One of the major milestones from Phase I of this collaboration is the LC/MS-based characterization of Liraglutide, a GLP-1 agonist used in the treatment of diabetes and obesity, using the Agilent Mass Spectrometry platform.
“This research is a game-changer for the development of therapeutic peptides, ensuring compliance with FDA safety standards and increasing drug efficacy,” said C-CAMP.
Taslimarif Saiyed, Director and CEO of C-CAMP, said: “We believe that such collaborations will play a key role in developing technologies and accelerating science-led innovation in the coming years.”
“The joint effort will be launched with a targeted training program designed to equip startup and industry scientists with the skills to assess critical quality attributes (CQA) in biopharmaceutical development using high-resolution LC-MS/MS,” C‑CAMP said.
