Businessman honors late wife by building library at her alma mater

Businessman Gandham Prasad is building a library and computer room at the Government Girls’ High School at Rajam in Vizianagaram district in memory of his wife Bharati, who died after an illness. Mr. Prasad chose the college for the project because his wife studied there about three decades ago.

His children Satish and Amulya support him. Mr. Satish is a software engineer while Ms. Amulya is associated with a corporate hospital in Hyderabad.

Municipal Commissioner Akurati Ramachandra Rao, College Principal K. Janardhana Rao welcomed the initiative.

Mr. Prasad, who is popularly known as Balaraju in Rajam and surrounding areas, assured the officials that the construction would be completed within a few months.

Indian Red Cross Society President Kotta Sai Prasanath, IRCS-Srikakulam Public Relations Officer Penki Chaitnya said the library and computer room will benefit students preparing for competitive exams, especially girls, as they will no longer have to travel to access study resources. .
