In a large update concerning business interviews in India and the US, resources on Wednesday (October 15) said the negotiating team is currently in the US and is trying to find a “mutually advantageous solution” for both parties.
Sources told the press agency or: “There is a connection between both sides.”
They informed that the proposal of the ambassador was in India and met all the parties involved and had good meetings.
Meanwhile, “the bargaining team from India, USA. They are trying to find out whether we can have a mutually advantageous solution between the two parties,” the sources said.
“The discussion is on the table. We are in a deeper discussion. We have seen the growth of exports to the US and it can continue,” they added.
Sources said that approximately 45 percent of Indian exports to the US remain outside the tariff.
“Good progress” in business interviews in India-USA
On October 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the President of the United States by Donald Trump to congratulate him on the peace plan in Gaza, where Israel and Hamas agree to stop the war and exchange prisoners.
During the PM Modi interview, he said that both leaders also reviewed the ongoing business negotiations and noted “good progress” despite the 50 % of the tariffs that Donald Trump had imposed on Indian imports.

During the visit, the Minister met Jamieson Grero and the US Ambassador to India Sergio Gora.
Previously, there were also discussions between the US main negotiator Brendan Lynch and his Indian counterpart Rajesh Agrawal on the proposed two -sided trade agreement.
In 2024-25, the US remained the largest trading partner in India for the fourth consecutive year, while a bilateral trade worth $ 131.84 billion ($ 86.5 billion).
The US represents approximately 18 % of total exports between Indian goods, 6.22 % in imports and 10.73 % in total goods trade.
