The accident occurred in Jatwal when the bus carrying pilgrims to the catry from Uttar Pradesh suffered a tire explosion and slipped from the highway near a small bridge, officials told PTI.
The deceased was identified as 45 -year -old IQBal Singh from Amroha, they added.
The rescue operation was launched and the injuries were moved to the Samba hospital. Seven of them were later admitted to Aiims Vijaypur.

The main Minister Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah expressed his condolences about a tragic bus accident in Samba.
Abdullah said in post X: “The main minister expressed sorrow over a tragic bus accident in Samba bearing Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims, who claimed one life and left many injured. He prays for a rapid recovery of the injured and secured all possible help.”
Previously, CM Omar Abdullah commented on Tuesday’s Rescue operation in the cloudburst affected Kishtwar and said it could be impossible to find someone alive and said that the disaster was more due to cloudburst rather than violating glacier lakes.
