Setti Mani aka Manimaran, 41, accused of Warangal in Telangana, which took place in connection with three recent burglary in Palakkad, tried to catch the sub-inspector’s weapon on Thursday during verification in one of the houses.
Manimaran was brought to the house of Sivadasan in Pratibha Nagar in Kalmandapam, where he allegedly broke 7.5 ₹ Lakh 14 May. During the verification he tried to catch the weapon of the sub-inspector H. Harshad.
But the agile police officer was thwarted by Manimarana’s attempt and brought him to the ground. The police said Manimaran was known for its aggressive behavior.
On Tuesday, the Kasaba police took the custody of Manimarana from Coimbatore prison and brought him to Palakkad in connection with three burglary held on May 14th.
The police said Manimaran was reportedly involved in more than 70 burglary and theft in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
They said that Manimaran was known for his aggressive behavior and committed solo theft, so with the accomplices.
The first grade judicial municipality returned him to police custody on Wednesday. Was brought to verify the crime scene. The police said that after completion of investigation formalities, it would be sent back to Coimbatore prison.
