Commuters on the Outer Ring Road have expressed concern about uneven concrete barriers at the subway poles, which narrow the roadway and create safety hazards. Two-wheeler riders are particularly vulnerable in heavy traffic.
At several stretches along the ORR where metro construction is underway, the central bulkhead appears to bulge outwards around the foot of the piers, narrowing the usable roadway. Motorists say these sudden restrictions reduce maneuvering space and increase the risk of collisions, especially during peak hours when traffic congestion is heavy.
