Bharatiya Janata Party Andhra Pradesh Official Spokesperson Valluru Jayaprakash welcomed the State Budget 2026-2027, describing it as a balanced and responsible financial plan that combines prosperity with development while maintaining fiscal discipline.
He told the media on Saturday that the budgetary outlay lays a solid foundation for Swarna Andhra’s vision 2047. He noted that the reduction in both revenue and fiscal deficit, despite increased expenditure, reflects prudent financial management and better resource mobilization.
Mr. Jayaprakash highlighted the significant increase in capital expenditure from ₹40,635 crore in the previous financial year to nearly ₹54,000 crore, which he termed as a clear sign of the government’s push for infrastructure-led growth. Investments in roads, logistics, industrial corridors and digital infrastructure are expected to accelerate long-term economic expansion and create job opportunities.
Welcoming the allocation of ₹ 32,308 crore for the education sector, he said that scholarships, Samagra Shiksha and skill development programs will strengthen human capital and increase the employability of the youth. Social initiatives like NTR Bharosa Pension, Deepam 2 and Stree Shakti, he said, underscore the government’s commitment to support the vulnerable sections.
Referring to the agriculture allocations, he termed the support for the Polavaram project and the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme as laudable, adding that they would provide relief and stability to farmers. The ₹6,000 crore earmarked for the development of Amaravati has been described as a decisive step towards building a world-class capital city.
Calling it a true twin-engine government budget, Mr Jayaprakash credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for steering the state towards accelerated and inclusive growth.
