Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Mysore Business Area (BA), organized a workshop for consumers’ education on “UCC and spam calls” in the conference hall, RTTC in TK layout.
The workshop, which was carried out in a hybrid regime, has witnessed the active participation of consumers and stakeholders aimed at raising awareness of today’s telecommunications fraud and preventive measures. The event took place in accordance with Telecom Regulators Authority of India (Trai).
Rajendra Kumar Singh, CEO of Telecom, BSNL, MySore Ba, chaired the workshop.
It was led to the education of participants about a growing threat represented by unsolicited commercial communication (UCC) and spam calls and the need for consumer’s vigilance. Ravishankar M., Deputy CEO, BSNL, Mysuru, in his address, emphasized the BSNL measure for customer awareness and digital security.
Detailed presentation on the methods of security of personal data and finance from fraudsters was carried out by Shankar H., assistant of the CEO in retirement (Vigilance), BSNL.
Veena SM, a cyber crime officer, economic offenses and narcotics (prices) of a police station, Mysuru, provided a deep insight into the techniques used by fraudsters to deceive unbelieving individuals. She also shared valuable tips for recognition and avoiding ordinary computer fraud.
Manjunath M., Deputy Manager, State Bank India, Administrative Office, Mysur, discussed measures taken by banking institutions to limit digital fraud. He urged users to proceed with caution when installing mobile applications and avoid sharing personal or banking information with unknown resources.
GOPAL RATNAM, Minister of the Consumer Care Society, Bengalur, emphasized the importance of public awareness in the prevention of fraud.
Ravindra Kumar R., Deputy CEO, BSNL, expressed gratitude to all speakers, participants and participants for their valuable contributions. The event served as a significant step to strengthen consumers with knowledge and tools needed to combat telecommunications fraud and promotion of safe digital practices.
