Jawan BSF reportedly kidnapped Bangladesh nationals in the Murshidabad district in West Bengal, but a few hours later was released after the border guards Bangladesh, PTI reported and quoted officials
“The incident occurred in the early hours near Chandni Chowk, near the camp for border security forces in Sutiar, Nurpur in the district,” they said.
The PTI informed when the BSF sources quoted that Jawan was trying to stop an attempt to infiltrate from the Bangladesh side near the village of Kathalia when Miscreants from the Bangladesh district of Chapai Nawabganj were captured.
“He was kidnapped by Bangladeshi nationals and was held in captivity, but was released in a few hours after we had a problem with Bangladesh (BGB).
The soldier was handed over to the Indian authorities after the flag meeting between the two border forces.
Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident, the sources have given the PTI.
BSF reviews security protocols in this area, but still have to give an official incident statement.
