According to a joint press release, DG BGB expressed deep concern about “indiscriminate shooting and killing innocent Bangladesh nationals of BSF and Indian citizens along the border”.
DG BSF has repeated its obligation to prevent the killing of boundaries by taking other preventive measures and intensifying night patrols along the vulnerable border areas.
“Both parties have agreed to perform common programs to raise awareness, implement initiatives of socio-economic development in vulnerable areas, supported respect for borders, and prevented cross-border criminals to reduce such incidents to zero.”
In addition, DG BSF said at the meeting that Bangladesh nationals who would be illegally staying in India will be repatriated by mutually agreed processes.
It was also decided that India and Bangladesh would not carry out any development activities up to 150 yards from zero line, as well as facilitate the Commission for Commission for Common Greeks and prevent unauthorized activities in the ordinary rivers along the border.
Effective measures will be taken to prevent the inhabitants of the borders in engaging in cross -border crimes such as illegal intrusion, smuggling, human trading, violations of border pillars and other offenses.
