Arguing for the leaders to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the wiretapping case, Telangana Jagruti founder K. Kavitha said that the wiretapping took place during the tenure of Mr. K. Chandrashekhar Rao and that anyone summoned for investigation must cooperate.
“No one is above the law. I myself faced inquiries from ED and CBI despite having done nothing wrong,” she said, adding that she was willing to cooperate with the SIT if it planned to interrogate her as she was also suffering. She wanted a transparent investigation but expressed skepticism about whether it would be brought to a logical conclusion.
However, she criticized BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s argument that KCR should not even be summoned for the inquiry, calling it “feudal thinking”. She also targeted BRS MLA Harish Rao, alleging that he colluded with the Congress government to defame KCR.
Ms. Kavitha also criticized the remarks attributed to KTR and alleged that voters were asked to vote only on the basis of KCR’s image, regardless of whether the candidate was good or bad. “Asking people to vote blindly on the basis of a label reflects a feudal and authoritarian mindset,” she said, urging voters to vote for candidates who stand with people in times of need and not those who seek money or exploit caste, religion or relationships.
She also alleged that the Congress government had entered into “match-fixing” with the BJP and accused it of deliberately dragging the wiretapping case for political gains, especially ahead of the municipal elections. “If Congress had real intent, why hasn’t the case progressed in the last two years?” she asked.
