A delegation of BRS MLCs on Tuesday filed a complaint against Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy against a regional TV news channel seeking action against him for insulting MLC T. Ravinder Rao by a news anchor during a recent debate.
The delegation was led by Leader of Opposition in the Council S. Madhusudan Chary and consisted of Deshapathi Srinivas, Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, L. Ramana, Naveen Kumar Reddy and others. Mr Chary said insulting the BRS MLC after inviting him to debate without her using any unparliamentary and objectionable language was not desirable.
Condemning the incident, he said it was not an attack on the MLC by the news anchor but an attack on the Council itself. The opposition party has previously banned the news channel from reporting on its (party) events.
