BRS MLAs are staging a protest in Hyderabad on Monday demanding release of refund fees.
HYDERABAD
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) legislators staged a protest at Gun Park outside the Assembly on Monday, holding placards and raising slogans demanding release of refund dues. They also went to the assembly and the council with banners and raising slogans.
Leader of Opposition in the Council S. Madhusudan Chary said in the protest that the Revanth Reddy government was playing with the lives of students along with other sections of the society to whom the Congress government had made a lot of promises before the polls. He alleged that the government had betrayed all sections, including the students.
He said that the students of SC, ST and BC municipalities were denied the opportunity to pursue their education without interruption due to non-release of fee payment on time. As a result, the fees increased to ₹12,000 crore.
The scheme introduced by the YS Rajasekhara Reddy government in the united Andhra Pradesh was continued by the K. Chandrasekhar Rao government after the creation of Telangana state to help the disadvantaged sections get an opportunity to pursue higher education, said Mr. Madhusudana Chary and demanded that the government release the fees immediately.
