BRS government. fought the Miyapur Land case in SC, defended by: Harish Rao

HYDERABAD

Deputy senior leader of the BRS Legislature Party and former minister T. Harish Rao said the previous BRS government had protected 550 acres of government land in Miyapur, while the current Congress government plans to monetize it.

He mentioned that the BRS government fought the land case in the Supreme Court and saved it. However, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was now planning to sell it. After the Supreme Court verdict on the Miyapur land, the Chief Minister held a press conference and everything he said there contradicted what was mentioned in the Supreme Court records.

The Miyapur dispute reached the Supreme Court as a special leave petition (SLP) in 2003 and became a civil appeal in 2013 when the Congress was in power but the party did nothing. After Telangana was created, then Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao ensured that the land in the heart of Hyderabad did not slip out of government hands. In 2015, he hired senior lawyer CS Vaidyanathan to fight for the land in favor of the government, he said.

Mr. Vaidyanathan appeared for Telangana from 7 April 2015 and advocated for the protection of Miyapur land. From 2015 to 2023, almost eight years, the BRS government fought the case non-stop. Every petition, every affidavit and every piece of evidence presented to the Supreme Court in the land of Miyapur was during the tenure of BRS.

The Supreme Court in its land judgment said, “It is appropriate to discuss the relevant expressions and regulations under the AP Abolition of Jagirs Regulations and the Atiyat Inquiries Act. Certain relevant terminologies have been extracted from para 93 of the judgment of this Court in Trinity Infraventures Ltd. v. MS Murthy, 2023 SCC OnLine, for the said purpose SC 7738.”

So the real basis of the Miyapur land verdict was the Trinity Infraventures verdict. This case involving Goldstone Prasad was won by the Telangana government on 15th June 2023. “The victory of that day and the legal grounds laid down in that judgment is what stands today in the verdict of the land of Miyapur,” said Mr. Harish Rao.

However, the Chief Minister held a press conference and declared it a victory for his government and repeated lies. The plan behind the victory claims and celebration was to sell 550 acres of land, which now has a market value of about ₹ 60,000 crore.
