Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) spokesperson and former chairman of Mineral Development Corporation, Manne Krishank, claimed that the state government had raised ₹10,000 crore by using (freezing) 817 acres of valuable government land as collateral.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad on Friday (October 10, 2026), he asked the government to release details of the land transaction, the valuation of the land and the agreements under which it was allegedly promised. He said the public deserves clarity on the government’s decisions regarding land in areas including Hitec City, Miyapur, Shankarpally, Patancheru, Hayathnagar and Jawaharnagar.
Asked if it was reasonable to value land in some of Hyderabad’s most valuable areas at around ₹15 million per acre, he produced documents showing that the land had been assigned a total market value of about ₹12,818.63 million. He called on the government to publish the valuation reports and explain how they determined the figures.
He cited information that indicated that HMDA-related bank balances had increased from around ₹275 crore as on 31 March 2026 to around ₹10,000 crore as on 30 June 2026. He demanded that the government clarify the source of these funds and make public the agreements and valuation reports related to the reported fundraising.
“Why should the public property of Telangana be frozen without informing the people?” he tried to know. He raised concerns over the utilization of about 50 acres of land in Survey No. 12/P in Jawaharnagar and said that the land was allotted to Genpact in 2008 at Rs 25 lakh per acre. He said a Genpact board was visible at the site while a container belonging to KLSR Infratech was also placed there and the activity appeared to be ongoing.
He sought to know what was the process of identifying and pledging the 817 acres of land, where were the agreements and government approvals, which agency valued the land and why the valuation reports were not made public, what were the details of the ₹10,000 crore raised under HMDA and how the funds would be used.
