He recalled the legacy of former Congress legislator late P Janardhan Reddy (PJR) and said many residents, especially from the weaker sections of the society, continued to remember his work between . He said those who invoked sentiment today had earlier opposed decisions taken after PJR’s death.
The CM listed the measures introduced by the Congress government, including ration cards for low-income families, 200 units of free electricity and free travel for women in Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses. He said the government had also ensured women’s representation in the cabinet, appointed leaders like Seethakka and Konda Surekha and created marketing opportunities for women’s self-help groups.
Appealing to voters to support Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, he said that Mr. Yadav as a local resident would be available to address civic issues directly and would work to provide housing under the Indiramma Indlu scheme. He emphasized that if the Congress is given a strong mandate, the development work in the constituency would be taken up on a large scale.
Referring to the demand to name Borabanda Junction after PJR, the Chief Minister assured that it would be launched on ‘Vijaya Yatra’ and the junction would be named PJR Junction. He urged the voters to ensure a wide margin of victory for Mr. Naveen Yadav.
