A terrifying attack by a man with a cutter in Brooklyn on Sunday morning left several people injured – including three young girls – before the police shot a suspect, New York Post reported. Chaos broke around 10:00 on the 84th street in Bensonurst and sent shock waves in the area.
The suspect, described as a man around 40 years, slashed at least four people, including women and three girls aged 8 and 16, and then charged with NYPD officers and were shot several times, published a post to quote sources.
Eyewitches depict chaos
“I watched the window and the girl covered with blood came out,” said a neighbor, who only proceeded as Maria. “And then there was another girl. Both girls were just covered with blood. I was shaking. He was still shaking.”
Maria said she had lived in a block for seven years and only recently saw the victims moving to the neighborhood.
Police confrontation ends with shooting
When the officers arrived on the scene after 911 call, the suspect refused to drop the weapon. Instead, he allegedly plunged into officers and made them start fire.
“They brought a guy to a stretcher, all bloody shirts,” Humbert Huerta said. “I don’t know who it was, but they shot him twice. They took him and put him in an ambulance. Probably 40 years.”
The victims threw themselves into the hospital, one critical
All victims were transported to Maimonides Medical Center. According to the report, at least one of the children is in critical condition. Suspect is also hospitalized with life -threatening injuries.
