The British former player with the best rated doubles, Tara Moore, was overturned by a four -year suspension after the court for Sport (CAS).
Moore, 32, was intermediately suspended in June 2022 after a positive testing to forbidden anabolic steroids Nandrolon and Boldenon. She constantly rejected the deliberate unlawful conduct and initially convinced the independent tribunal that the substances had entered its system through a contaminated meat consumed before testing.
However, CAS decided on Tuesday that Moore did not provide sufficient evidence that combines nandrolone levels in its contaminated food sample. In the CAS statement he said:
“After reviewing scientific and legal evidence, most of the CAS panel believed that players could not prove that the concentration of nandrolone in its sample was in accordance with the use of contaminated meat.”
The panel concluded that Moore could not prove that violations of anti -doping (ADRV) were unintentional. As a result, the dismissal of ITIA was confirmed and the previous decision of the independent tribunal was canceled.
The decision will end the 19 -month suffering for Moore, who had previously spoken of monitoring her “reputation, evaluation and livelihood slowly flying” during the interim suspension. She filed a crushed request to reject the case of ITIA, or confirm her claim to “no guilt or negligence”, but CAS declared it unacceptable.
The four -year ban on Moore is effective from July 15, 2025, but will be reduced by a time that has already been administered under the interim suspension.
ITIA CEO Karen Moorhouse remarked: “Our Bar for appeal with the first case is high and the decision is not accepted easily. In this case, our independent Scientific Council consisted of not sufficiently explaining the high level of Nandrolon present in their sample.
Moore has not yet publicly answered the decision.
