A wedding moment from Ludhiana is winning the internet after the bride decided to break convention and drive her own ‘doli’ in a Mahindra Thar. The clip, which has now crossed 35 million views, shows Bhawni Talwar Verma taking the wheel moments after her bidaai, which has sparked a wave of admiration on social media.
A video posted by Instagram user Chirag shows Bhawni walking past her relatives straight to the SUV, opening the driver’s door and confidently settling in despite her heavy wedding lehenga. Her groom sits in the passenger seat next to her and can be heard saying, “I need us to get home safely,” putting his hands together in a playful gesture that also charmed onlookers.
Towards the end of the clip, he helps her out of the vehicle, both visibly pleased with the unconventional start to a new journey.
