Upon arrival in Brazil at the summit summit, the PM was greeted by the Brazilian President Luiz Lula Da Silva, who shared a hug with him.
“Goilly President Lula for hosting this year’s BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Brics remains a strong force for economic cooperation and global good,” PM Modi said in the X post.
In another post, sharing a photo with leaders BRICS, PM Modi said: “BRICS has the huge potential to contribute to building a more inclusive and fairer global future.”
Brazil is the fourth country to visit the 5-field PM Modi for the 17th Summit Brics.
Sunday 6. PM Modi embarked on tour 2 July, which will last until 9 July.
Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin skipped the summit.

After his meeting with the Brazilian President, Prime Minister Modi also met South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Indian community in Brazil welcomes modi
Upon his arrival in Brazil, PM Modi received a warm and live welcome from the Indian community in Rio de Janeiro. He also witnessed a musical performance of traditional prayer songs.
Members of the Indian community organized a traditional dance performance on the theme of “Sindoor Operation” while welcomed PM Modi.
The PM Modi, which came to X, said he was amazed by the permanent connection of the Indian diaspora with Indian culture.
“Members of the Brazilian Indian communities gave a very lively welcome in Rio de Janeiro. It is amazing how they remain associated with Indian culture and are also very passionate about the development of India! Here are some greeners’ flashes,” the Prime Minister said on X.

BRICS, originally composed of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, spread in 2024 to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates, and in 2025, Indonesia joined the block.
