The 21 -year -old long jumper Shani Singh said that the breaking of the 23 -year -old Federation record held by her mentor and the Indian Long jump icon Bobby George was a moment of pride. Shaili Vyskočil 6.64 meters and surpassed Anju from 2002 6.59 meters at the National Federation Cup athletics championships held at Maharaja’s College Ground in Ernakula.
“Breaking the long -term record of the Federation Federation Anju Ma’am is a moment of pride.
This moment was even more strange that the woman she was detrored was standing next to her – Anja Bobby George, not only her predecessor, but also her leading power. Anju, who now mentors young talents, including Shaili through her foundation, was the one who presented the gold medal of a record record and turned the ceremony into a symbolic walk through the baton.
“I always knew it would break my record. It’s a perfect anniversary gift for me. Now I’m waiting for Shaili to break my national record,” Anja said with a wide smile, and clearly lit up with pride.
Reflection on the path of Shaili and the importance of the success of Anja added: “The records are to be broken, and I am excited to achieve Shaili’s performance. When we first saw her talent years ago, I knew what was needed to overcome my best grades.
