
US President Donald Trump explained that new tariff rates were based on “common sense” and business imbalances, although according to the AP report it did not talk about what he wrote in his letter to Brazil.
He also admitted that he did not consider the introduction of tariffs on countries whose leaders were currently visited in the White House-Liberia, Senegal, Gabon, Mauritania and Guinea-Bissau-Skoul, “These are my friends now.”

He claimed that the countries had not disappeared too much against the tariffs outlined in his letters, although these rates were largely similar to those announced by April 2, which, according to AP report, had upset financial markets.
“We didn’t have many complaints,” Trump said, “because I keep rates low, very conservative as you would say.”

Brazil
Trump announced a 50 % tariff on Brazil imports, starting on 1 August and called the court of former Brazilian President Jaira Bolsonar “Witch Hunt” and added that “the court should not take place”.
Japan
The US will increase its tariff to Japanese goods to 25% from August 1, which is raised from 24% of the rate announced in April. Japan’s key exports to the US include cars, cars and electronics. Key exports to the US: fabric, clothes, shoes and bikes.
