On Saturday (June 28, 2025), the Union Government appointed the head of the Indian Police Service (IPS) Parag Jain as the new Chief of the Research and Analytical Wing (R & AW), the Indian External Intelligence Agency.
In 1989-dwelling officer of IPS from the cadre of Panjab, Mr. Jain, will replace the reigning chief R & AW Ravi Sinha, who is to retire on June 30. Mr. Jain will take over the office of July for a specified two -year term.
Currently, Mr. Jain is led by Aviation Research Center (ARC), a key R & AW wing. It is said that he played a key role in Sindoor operation by providing news inputs that allowed precise missile strikes for terrorist hiding places in Pakistan.
Mr. Jain previously worked in various capacities in Pandjab during his terrorist crisis, including as the head of the police guide (SSP) and deputy General Inspector (DIG). His past tasks also include important duties on the R & AW Pakistan table and during the abolition of Article 370 in 2019 he was sent in Jamm and Kashmir.
In addition, Mr. Jain had diplomatic and intelligence points in Sri Lanka and Canada, where he watched the terrorist modules of the Khalists. During his career, he held several sensitive contributions concerning national security and foreign intelligence.
