Brahmotsavams: Chief Minister Naidu offers ‘silk vastrams’ to Tirumala temple

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on his way to offer a pair of ‘silk vastrams’ to the Lord Venkateswara Temple on Tuesday on behalf of the state government. His wife Bhuvaneswari, son and IT minister Nara Lokesh and his wife Brahmani are seen.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu handed over a pair of ‘silk vastrams’ to Lord Venkateswara on Tuesday. The usual offering was made on behalf of the state government for the annual Brahmotsavams which were started by the clergy in the evening.

Carrying ‘silk vastrams’, placed on a silver plate, on his head, Mr. Naidu proceeded towards the main temple in a solemn procession. The procession was led by elephants, horses and bulls led by capers and accompanied by other temple paraphernalia.

Inside the temple, Mr. Naidu handed over vastrams to the head priest and offered prayers to the presiding deity.

His wife N. Bhuvaneswari, son and IT minister Nara Lokesh and daughter-in-law Nara Brahmini also accompanied him to the temple.

Later, priests presented ‘Vedasirvachanams’ to the Chief Minister and his entourage, while TTD Chairman BR Naidu and Managing Director Muddada Ravichandra presented them with laddu and ‘theertha prasadam’ of the deity.
