Medical Education Minister Sharanprakash R. Patil on Thursday (April 30, 2026) ordered a security audit of all government hospital buildings and walls under the Medical Education Department across the state. This comes after seven people died after a wall collapsed at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, renamed Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College and Research Institute.
The minister issued the instructions after visiting the site of the incident where part of the enclosure wall collapsed during heavy rain on Wednesday (April 30, 2026) evening.
