
Bondi Beach shooting LIVE: Australian officials say twelve people were killed when gunmen opened fire during a Jewish holiday event on Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Sunday, according to Reuters.
Australian media reported 29 injured.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed his condolences to those affected, saying: “The scenes in Bondi are shocking and distressing,” adding: “Police and emergency workers are on the scene working to save lives.
A large-scale emergency was taking place, ambulances were transporting the injured.
Mal Lanyon, police commissioner for New South Wales, said at least 29 people, including two police officers, were confirmed injured.
Hundreds of people gathered on Bondi Beach for an event called Hanukkah by the Sea, celebrating the start of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.
