The Mumbai High Court (HC) operated on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) until 12:30 with regard to the continuous precipitation that killed the city, disrupted road and rail transport and forced the closure of several government authorities.
In the announcement issued in the morning, HC said that due to heavy rains, bad weather and difficulties facing advocates and employees during commuting, all courts were listened to until 12:30, officials and employees who were allowed to leave the office until 13:00, while the secretary employees were asked to depart.

The second direction said: “All officials/employees are allowed to leave the office by 13:00 that the secretary staff will leave the office according to Hon’ble Judges.”
Normally, however, the function of the High Court from 11:00 to 17:00, however, from Monday (August 18, 2025) led to disturbance of the city. It was seen that several advocates appeared online to argue their affairs before the court on Monday (August 18, 2025) and Tuesday, August 19, 2025).
The Indian Meteorological Department issued a red warning of Mumbai and the adjacent districts and on Tuesday, August 19, 2025) predicted extremely heavy precipitation in isolated areas. A downpour, followed by the Rain Pounding Day, a normal life crippled, and citizens were struggling with traffic jams, waterlogging and trains delay.
