The bomb threats via e-mails sent security officials in Mysur and Chamarajanagar on Friday.
Separate emails containing bombs threats were reached by official e-mail addresses by the Commissioner Chamarajanagar and the Municipal Police Commissioners of Mysur, which made security officials to immediately swing and take the necessary security measures.
The Commissioner of the Municipal Police of Seema Latkar said that the e-mail sent to her office said that the bombs were planted in various places in Mysurus and that they would explode within 24 hours.
The e-mail contained only one line and was sent from the address different from the address received by the Chamarajanagar representative.
The police took all the necessary measures, including the deployment of bombs and liquidation detection, a dog team and other special units in sensitive places such as a suburban bus stand, city railway station, hotels and places of tourist interest, including the Mysur Palace.
The threat of the bomb for Mysuru came at a time when a large number of tourists arrived in the city because of the holidays for Basava Jayanti and May Day, when during the summer holidays went on days. Tourist destinations in the city were apuzz with a large number of visitors.
Police officials who are not willing to take advantage of any chances were given a high warning.
Evacuation
Meanwhile, an e-mail sent to the official e-mail address of the Chamarajanagara Commissioner said that a bomb was planted at the Commissioner’s representative at 3 pm at 3 pm at 3 pm
Deputy Commissioner Chamarajanagar Shilpa Nag said the police were immediately informed and the deputy of the Commissioner was soon evacuated for a detailed tour of the building premises by detection of bomb and liquidation.
“All officials working in the Chamarajanagar Commissioner were asked to release the building and be asked to come in the evening after 15:00 or tomorrow,” Mrs. Nag said. All necessary steps according to standard operational procedures have been taken as preventive measures and there is no need for someone to panic, she said.
Police officials tried to track the origin of the e-mail that was received around 7:00 on Friday, she said.
Police Superintendent, Chamarajanagar, BT Kavitha said that the police registered companies and started investigating the matter. The team is already engaged in monitoring the origin of the e-mail.
Anti-Sabotage was also checked as part of the security exercise.
