At least three district courts in Delhi, including the Saket and Tis Hazari courts, reportedly received bomb threats on Tuesday, November 18, the Bar Association confirmed to reporters.
In view of the bomb threat, advocate Anil Basoya, secretary of the Saket Bar, said the work of the court was suspended for the next two hours.
Further details of the incident are awaited.
The threats came hours after two CRPF-run schools in the state capital received bomb threats. According to reports, an unidentified man called the Police Control Command (PCR) claiming that explosives had been planted on the premises of CRPF schools in Prashant Vihar and Dwarka.
“After receiving the call, teams were rushed to both the places and the school buildings were evacuated as a precaution,” said a senior police officer.
He said the caller’s phone went dead shortly after the threat was made and efforts to trace him are ongoing.
“We have thoroughly checked the schools and found nothing suspicious. The threat has been declared a hoax,” a Delhi Fire Services official said.
Police are analyzing call records and technical details to identify the caller and ascertain the motive behind the fraud threat, the officer added.
No injuries or damage were reported.
