“BOMB” threat? Lucknow-Saudi Arabia IndiGo flight makes emergency landing in Ahmedabad; here is what happened | Today’s news
On September 10, an IndiGo flight from Lucknow to Dammam (Saudi Arabia) made an emergency landing in Ahmedabad. A tissue paper with the words “BOMB” on it was found on board.
The plane landed around 17:55 with 133 people on board, including crew members. All passengers on flight 6E97 were safely removed from the aircraft.
Airport security, fire and bomb squad officials were investigating, police said. Passengers were reportedly asked to write on tissue paper for handwriting comparison. These samples will be compared to the writing on the suspect note.
“A crew member found a ‘bomb’ written on a piece of paper during the flight, after which it made an emergency landing at the Ahmedabad airport. The flight was carrying 107 passengers and six crew members. They were forced to disembark,” airport police inspector AD Chavda was quoted as saying by PTI.
Officials have not yet confirmed the exact circumstances of the incident. This was Ahmedabad airport’s second emergency landing in just 10 days.
