Several schools in Delhi received an email bomb threat on Wednesday.
According to an ANI report, schools immediately asked parents to pick up their students as a precaution.
The announcement outlined the gradual dispersion of students to closely monitor and manage the situation without causing panic among students and parents.
Which schools received a bomb threat on Wednesday?
A statement issued by the Indian school read: “Dear parents, the school has received a bomb threat via email. As a precautionary measure, the school is dispersing children. Please come pick up your child according to the schedule below: Kindergarten to Grade 2: 9:30, Grades 3 to 5: 9:45, Grades 6 to 8, 5:1 Grade 9:5:1.”
At the same time, Ahlcon International School in New Delhi also received a bomb threat. She issued a similar notice to parents, advising them to coordinate with delivery drivers to pick up students safely and on time.
The notice said: “Dear Parent, Please note that due to an email threat received this morning, we are arranging an early dismissal for all students (walking/bus/van users) at 11:30 a.m., with the safety of our students as our highest priority. We ask that parents kindly coordinate with the van drivers to contact us in a timely manner. We greatly appreciate your continued patience and cooperation in picking up permits. from Ahlcon International School.”
Meanwhile, officials said schools in Laxmi Nagar and Sadiq Nagar have received bomb threats.
According to firefighters, the information was received in the morning hours. Police say more than one school received the calls.
An investigation is currently underway and further details are awaited.
Bomb threat to Delhi University colleges
Earlier, students of two colleges in Delhi were evacuated after Deshbandhu College and Ramjas College received bomb threat emails last Wednesday, officials said. Police and bomb squads arrived at both campuses and began checking the premises.
Delhi Police confirmed that the threatening emails were received by both institutions around the same time. Several police teams along with bomb disposal squad and sniffer dogs have been deployed to the locations.
However, no suspicious items were found during the searches, officials said.
Security forces have been on high alert since the blast in Delhi near the Red Fort that killed at least 15 people.
