Bomb threat forces diversion of Air India Express flight to Ahmedabad

An Air India Express flight from Dammam, Saudi Arabia to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad after a crew member discovered a tissue paper warning that there was a “bomb” on board.

After the plane landed in Ahmedabad, security agencies checked the plane and found nothing suspicious. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), ‘G’ Division, VN Yadav, told PTI. The official said an investigation has been launched.

The flight had 32 passengers who were accommodated at Terminal 2 of Ahmedabad Airport.

Air India Express said: “The Government Appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was immediately alerted and all security procedures were immediately initiated. The flight landed and all guests disembarked safely. The aircraft will be cleared for operations after completion of necessary security checks.” (With PTI inputs)
