While US President Donald Trump has expressed interest in negotiating with the “Iranians” amid a very tense and escalating US-Iranian war, Bollywood’s own Iranian Boman Irani has accepted the offer – “Anything for peace!”
In a cheeky video on Instagram, Irani said: “Iranians are ready for peace talks with Mr. Donald Trump…”
“How do you know it’s going viral that Mr. Donald Trump wants to talk to the Iranians and three people have been invited,” Boman said, jokingly mentioning that the talks include Smriti Irani, Aruna Irani and himself.
The actor and director said: “I am ready to do anything for peace.” However, he said he would not go to Washington for that and would prefer Trump to come to Mumbai, specifically to his Dadar Parsi colony.
He also spoke about the one issue that has united Indians since the start of the war on February 28 – the LPG crisis.
“We feed them, we feed them dhansak, pudding,” Irani said. “But if they bring a gas cylinder, then I think it will make life a lot easier for all of us.

Trump says Iran is eager for a deal
Trump said Wednesday that a deal to end the Iran war is close. It comes after Tehran rejected Trump’s 15-point ceasefire plan and issued its own sweeping demands for an end to the fighting.
“There have been no negotiations with the enemy so far and we are not planning any negotiations,” Iran’s foreign minister told state television.
Trump, however, insisted that talks with Iranian leaders were ongoing.
“By the way, they’re negotiating and they want to make a deal so bad, but they’re afraid to say it because they think their own people are going to kill them,” Trump said.

Trump’s 15-point ceasefire plan vs. Iranian demands
The 15-point U.S. proposal, as broadly described by two Pakistani officials, included easing sanctions, scrapping Iran’s nuclear program, curbing missiles and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which normally carries a fifth of the world’s oil.
However, Iran’s plan includes a halt to the killing of its officials, the means to ensure no further war is waged against it, reparations for the war, an end to hostilities and Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, Tehran announced on state television.
The war’s death toll has risen to more than 1,500 people in Iran, nearly 1,100 people in Lebanon, 20 in Israel, and 13 members of the US military, as well as several civilians on land and at sea in the Persian Gulf region.
Millions of people in Lebanon and Iran were displaced.
