Ajinkya Rahane (ICC Photo) New Delhi: Captain Kalcata Knight Riders Ajinkya Rahane reaffirmed his unwavering determination to return to the Indian team and said that it still contains “desire and hunger” again to represent the country. The 36 -year -old last performed in the test match in 2023 and was for almost ten years from Indian plans, but its focus remains clear.
“I would like to go back to the Indian arrangement again. The desire, hunger, fire is still there. Fitness-wise, I’m up there. I want to take one game at once, think about this IPL right now, and then see what will happen in the future,” Rahane said.
“I’m a person who never gives up. (I) I always try to give the best on the pitch; give more than 100 percent. It’s always about what focuses on controllable things.
The most famous chapter of Rahane in Indian colors came during the trophy Border-Gavascar Trophy 2020–21 in Australia, where he led a party stimulating injury to the historical victory of test series 2-1. Despite the fact that he soon found himself when younger talent appeared and took the center of attention.

“Every day, when I wake up, it’s always about what goals I want to achieve. There is nothing higher for me to represent your country,” he repeated.
“I want to represent my country. I want to wear these Indian colors again. During (out -of -the -season) I train for two or three sessions a day. I feel at the moment, to keep really fit for me is really important, recovery is really important,” he said.
“(I) I also focus on my diet … Motivation to good for India, it’s still there. I enjoy cricket, that’s an important thing. I am still passionate. I still love the game.”
When the interview moved towards the IPL 2025 and KKR campaign, Rahane expressed full support for extra-treatment vice-capitan Venkates Iyer, who fought for consistency. Since the defending champions need to win all four of the remaining games to stay in the play -off, the pressure grows.
Iyer, the most expensive purchase of franchise for 23.75 Crore RS, managed only 60 and 45 notes this season. In the last four games he accumulated only 28 runs. But Rahane supports her representative to bounce.

“Every player goes through this phase where they are trying to do the best, but the show is not coming. He is a good player. We all know he did well for the franchises in the past, (he) also won the team’s matches,” he said.
“This is important from the point of view of the management group (A) of the management (that) we supported it. He worked really hard. People generally see only results and result.
“From my point of view, we completely supported the venkatesh Iyer. It’s just one shift away. You can probably see one good shift from him in the next four games,” he added.
Rahane also admitted that the initial combination of the team did not click consistently.
“Sunil Narine is doing well for us in the past. This year we started with Quinny (Quinton de Kock). Quinny played very good knocking. But he couldn’t make money again. He tries. But now we have to look at positives than what doesn’t work for us,” he said.
“It is obvious that errors have occurred () and it can happen in this format. You want your players to play with freedom, sometimes play with a high -risk cricket, so we are obliged to make mistakes.”
“I don’t like to determine any players or a specific number. Everyone has to contribute … that doesn’t happen, yes. I accept it.”
Looking forward, Rahane emphasized the importance of focusing one match at once, especially with the upcoming games against Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, both from the play -off race were excluded.
“When the teams are out, they have nothing to lose and come up with a different approach to playing the game. For us it is important to go there with the right approach (a) the right approach on that particular day and give the best,” he said.
