Police and NDR staff won the body of an 18 -year -old youth, who drowned on Monday in the Malaprabha River in Yadoga near Khanapore in the Belagavi district.
The body Shaubham Kuppatagiri was washed away on Saturday during the immersion of Ganesh Idol. Officers managed to get the body after a 48 -hour search.
He entered the river to immerse the family idol. Due to the high water flow in the river, however, grabbed in the hot tub and drowned. Although he was a swimmer, he couldn’t save himself.
Officers of Khanapur and Nandagad police stations and NDR officers were involved in searching for the body using local fishermen.
The body was handed over to the family after postmort.
