The Bengaluru NavaNirmana Party (BNP) on Friday launched its ‘Mission 50’ campaign for the upcoming Greater Bengaluru elections and expressed confidence of winning at least 50 constituencies.

BNP is committed to ushering in a new era of citizen-led governance, empowering local communities to shape decisions that directly affect neighborhoods and the future of the city.

“Composed of civic leaders, professionals, urban experts, entrepreneurs and local organizers, we position ourselves as the first governance alternative to the older political parties. The party believes that gaining 50 constituencies will give it the critical mass needed to influence decision-making within the corporation and institutionalize accountability at the neighborhood level through Area Sabhas,” the BNP said in a statement.

The Mission 50 campaign aims to revive and empower Area Sabhas as envisioned by the 74th Constitutional Amendment.

Srikanth Narasimhan, founder and general secretary of the BNP, emphasized the need for a fundamental change in the way the city is run.

“We are bringing corporate discipline to public service where every project will have strict deadlines, every official will be held to strict accountability and every citizen will have a voice through empowered Area Sabhas. We are not here to play ‘politics as usual’; we are here to run our home professionally and transparently,” he added.

BNP has already activated ward teams and Area Sabha leadership in more than 75 wards, which work round the year to identify civic issues, coordinate with departments, monitor implementation and ensure follow-up.

“The party’s priorities include decentralized governance at the constituency level, solving day-to-day problems at the local level and ensuring transparency in tenders, budgeting and implementation through strict adherence to the Karnataka Public Procurement Transparency Act,” the BNP said in a statement.
