
A major tragedy was narrowly averted in Bengaluru after a train hit a BMTC bus at a level crossing at Sadaramangala in Kadugodi on Monday.
The impact caused damage to the bus, but there were no fatalities as there were no passengers in the vehicle. However, the bus conductor was injured.
According to officials, the incident occurred when the BMTC bus was heading from Sadaramangala towards Kadugodi on the railway parallel road. The bus backed into the track and hit a passing train.
Part of the bus was damaged in the collision and the conductor was injured.
Kadugodi police and railway officials rushed to the spot and shifted the injured conductor to hospital and detained the driver for further investigation.
