The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), as Minister for Transport Ramalinga Reddy, joined Shantinagar TTMC.
The remaining buses will start operations in the next two days, said BMTC Hindu official.
All buses are delivered by Tata Motors Ltd. (TML) Smart City Mobility Solutions Ltd., which will operate buses on the basis of the model of gross cost (GCC). BMTC concluded a contract with TML for 12 years in the amount of 41.01 GBP per km for the bus, including electricity charges.
“BMTC will provide buses for buses and all further maintenance will be launched by the contracting company,” said BMTC clerk, adding that all buses are listed in Jayanagar (Depot 4).
“E-busins operation is helpful to prevent emissions of approximately 2.07 carbon dioxide (CO₂) and contributes to the savings of almost 77,000 liters of diesel per day to strengthen the initiative of urban transport,” BMTC said.
As a result, the total E-busis fleet will be up to 1,584. BMTC operated 1,436 electric buses before the new additions, of which 1,311 were buses outside AC. Of this, 1,221 are 12 meters e-buses and 90 are nine meters of electronic sebus. All alternating e-buses that pay in Bengalur are 12 meters buses.
Transport Corporation adds 195 e-buses e-buses gradually and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“Within the PM E-Drive system, another 400 AC and 4,100 E-A-E-BUSES are planned for deployment, which further accelerates Bengalur’s path to sustainable urban mobility,” he added.
