A booth level officer (BLO) conducting the SIR of the electoral roll in Tavanur mandal in Kerala’s Malappuram district has been dismissed from service after he allegedly displayed nudity in public while filling voter census forms.
A show cause notice was issued to the BLO on Tuesday (November 25, 2025), a district administration official said.
The incident took place last week, but on Tuesday, the same videos were aired on TV channels.
A district official said the incident was brought to the notice of the Election Registration Officer (ERO) on November 23 and the BLO was removed from his post by District Collector VR Vinod on Monday.
“Another BLO has been given the responsibility to complete the work on Special Intensive Review (SIR),” she said.
The incident occurred when the BLO was filling enumeration forms while surrounded by people, including women.
