The Election Commission of India said on Tuesday that booth level agents (BLAs) of recognized political parties can submit a maximum of 10 application and objection forms per day to the respective booth level officers (BLOs).
In a statement, Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik said the BLA must submit the forms along with an undertaking that the applications were personally verified and that the details provided were correct.
The BLOs will verify these forms, digitize the contents and forward them to the concerned Assistant Electoral Registration Officer or Electoral Registration Officer who will examine the forms and take appropriate action on a case-by-case basis.
The announcement was made as part of the claims and objections period that began on December 19 and will continue until January 18, 2026 under a special intensive revision of the electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu.
The draft electoral roll for the state was released on December 19, in which nearly 97.37 million voters were deleted out of 6.41 million, bringing the total number of voters down to 5.43 million.
As of December 29, a total of 7,32,367 people filed Form 6 and Form 6A applications for inclusion in the electorate, while 9,450 people filed Form 7 for exclusion.
The Election Commission also organized special camps on weekends. On December 27 and 28, a total of 5.58 lakh people submitted Form 6 and 8,260 people submitted Form 7 in special camps.
