A livestock in China caused anger after showing that black dogs have teeth pulled without anesthesia. This shocking event happened on June 12, when the viewer named Meng of Jiangs’s province saw the current online.
At first she thought the items sold were fake, but soon realized that teeth were real. The photographs showed that the dogs tied, bleed from their mouths, with tools used to remove teeth.
The seller claimed that it was supposed to leave evil spirits. Whenever someone placed an order, a man would remove the tooth on the spot. The cruelty caused extensive outrage on the Chinese social media.
One seller, named Li, claims that the teeth of older dogs have more value because it is assumed to better protect against bad luck. In the Chinese tradition, it is assumed that the teeth of black dogs keep away from evil spirits associated with the legendary God Erlang Shen and his black dog.
“As soon as they cook, they become fragile and lose their spiritual power,” Li Morning Morning quoted.
These teeth are often tied to red strings and are worn as bracelets or suspended in homes for protection. Sellers reportedly work with dog meat restaurants and remove teeth without using anesthesia.
After public complaints, the living stream was private and some extracts were removed. Similar products, however, can still be found online, reported SCMP.
