Several members of the Muslim community who gathered in Masjids on Jumper Vida, the last Friday of Ramzan, wore black bands as a symbolic protest against the WAQF 2024 change law.
This step came after the Muslim Council for Personal Legal Law (Aimplb) called on Muslims to express disagreement with the bill and invited them to wear black bands.
Volunteers were seen at Mecca Masjid, who witnessed one of the greatest congregations of Jumper Vida in Hyderabad and gave away black bands to those who went to the place of worship. They were also worn by several young men in smaller masjids throughout the city.
Aimplb spokesman SQR Ilyas said Hindu: “People across the country wore black bands as a sign of protest. We continued that we were all – from the north, south, eastern and west – from the country.
