On Saturday, the state government represented a special investigation team (SIT), led by BK Singh, the next CEO of the police (ADGP), the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to explore the case of Aland “voters”.
This comes two days after the opposition leader at Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, marked the case at a press conference in Delhi on Thursday.
Hind was the first to report on a case where 5,994 voters were erased from election roles through counterfeit form 7 during public opinion surveys in 2023.
The CID probe intervened in the case with the Indian Electoral Commission (ECI), which did not share the key technical data that was allegedly needed to identify the culprits, despite 18 letters of the agency looking for it, Hindu 7 September 2025.
SIT will have Saidulu Adavath, superintendent of the police, computer crime division, CID and SHUBHANVITA, police superintendent, special questions, CID, as members.
The order that represents the SIT gives the authority of the team’s police station and directs the Chief of the State Police to convert companies registered in the case of Aland and hand over any other related cases that have already been registered, or those that will be registered in the future.
Mr. Singh had previously led the probes into the murders of editor-active Gauri Lankesh, the scholars of MM Kalburgi, the crimes of the former Member, Prajwal Revanna, and the alleged crimes of Munirathny, Mla.
Sit the probe led to the belief of Prajwal Revanna for a little over a year after a scandal broke out. He also led the probes to other important cases, such as the Pocso Act against the former main Minister BS Yediyupp and the recent Stampede during the celebrations of the RCB victory in Bengalur.
