The Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party demanded that Jinnah Nagar, the street in Palakkad, be renamed to Hittur Sankaran Nair, the only Malayali, who was the National President of the Indian National Congress.
Councilor BJP M. Sasikumar of Ayyapuram East Ward increased the demand in the village and quoted objections against the street called Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
