On Wednesday, BJP described the decision of the Congress to announce a report on socio-economic and educational survey-popularly known as Caste Survey-like efforts to move public attention from the tragedy of Stampede, in which 11 people died during the celebrations of the victory of the Indian Premier League Champions Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mijura Yadveer Krishhnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar that a survey conducted by the state government was a waste, unscientific and politically motivated exercises, said Mysuru Yaduveer Krishhnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar said that the state government was unnecessary, unscientific and politically motivated.
“BJP has always opposed it because it was unscientific, and the Congress with the decision to release the original message admitted that the message was defective,” Mr. Wadiyar said.
He also said that the planned census based on caste in 2026 would make any parallel effort at the state level in 2026, and urged the state government to reduce this step because it was wasting taxpayers.
“The state government has shown its incompetence in performing such an exercise, and since the center is already taking over it, there was no need to duplicate efforts,” Mr. Wadiyar said.
The fact that the decision to reconnect the caste was taken by the high command of the Congress in Delhi raises the questions whether Karnataka is dominated by the elected government or the offices of the Congress Committee for all India, added.
“It is not a Karnataka cabinet or the people of the state who take these decisions – it will not be formed by the Delhi leaders. Is it Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, who drive Karnataka?” he asked.
Wadiyar pointed out that more than 10 years ago more than 165 Crore was spent more than 10 years ago, he said that people need to know how Congress intends to compensate.
Raghu Kautilya, State President of BJP Morcha, repeated similar feelings and said that with Congress in Carnation over the tragedy Stampede, the party leaders decided to discard a report to distract the public and leave their contributions.
The movement of Congress is a clear indicator that the party was ready to avert the interest in backward classes to stay in power, said Mr. Raghu.
He also questioned Congress’s leaders that a new caste survey could be completed in 90 days. “Is it serious administration or just another move with the title?” he asked.
BJP leaders said that nearly 165 GBP Crore spent on Kantharaj’s survey should be compensated for taxpayers and urgently urgently on the state government to focus more on practical development issues rather than participating in the politically motivated census.
