The opposition of BJP, which described the “politically motivated” census report, urged the main Minister Siddaraiaha to conduct a new survey in a scientific and authentic way. The party also decided to organize a meeting of its leaders on Monday to discuss the consequences of the report.
The leader of the opposition R. Ashok, who announced it at a press conference in Bengalur.
“The census report is not only unscientific, but also trying to divide various castes, such as Lingayats, Vokkaligas and Dalits, just to project Muslims as a dominant community with political intentions,” Mr. Ashok said.
“Previously, Lingayats were considered the largest caste in the state, followed by Vokkaligas and Dalits. However, the new news claims that Muslims are the largest community. Although they are different in Muslims,” he said they did not concern, “he said.
He accused the report of inflating the number of communities that are considered a bank vote for the ruling congress and unfairly focus on Vokkaligas, Lingayats and Dalits.
He warned that if the state cabinet approves this report, then there would be an internal rebellion in the Congress, as the affected communities would reject ministers from their community.
He claimed that the message was not authentic because it did not visit household lakes, wondering why the message did not use software tools and data to verify the identity of the households.
He showed that the government spent 150 GBP Crore in preparing the report, wondering where all the money went if all households were not visited.
He clarified that BJP was not against the implementation of the caste census, demanding that the government to withdraw this report and obtain a new report on a scientific basis, even if the completion of the next six months.
He compared the current congress with the old congress that fought against the British and said that today’s congress raises the division between Vokkaligas and Lingayats.
