TPCC working President T. Jagga Reddy referred to the leadership of former Prime Minister Indire Gandhi and appreciated his decisive role during the 1971 Pakistan, Pakistan and said that BJP was still trying to undermine her victory.
On Monday, he spoke with reporters in Gandhi Bhavan, Mr. Reddy said that even during the current Indo-Pak Indira Gandhi conflict, Pakistan was discussed. He said that “India meant India”, these days and even BJP Stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee appreciated her courage over party lines and urged the BJP government to cancel the political differences during the national crisis.
Mr. Reddy remembered the firm attitude of Indira Gandhi during the 1971 war, especially her refusal to bow to the American pressure and the world respected her for being the will of the Indian people. “Pakistan had to bend his head before India. This courage is missing today,” he said.
He dug into the leader of BJP and said BJP was screaming more about the Gandhi family than taking any real steps. “BJP policy is hybrid and Congress policy is national,” he said.
“Congress, anchored in national values and history, is ready to answer any provocation, including insults or distortion of BJP,” he added.
