The day after Bharatiya Janat of Haridware and the former main Minister Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat raised the problem of uncontrollable “illegal mining” in the state, the mining secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant described the statement as “unfounded, false and intended”.
Mr. Rawat said in parliament on Thursday (March 27, 2025) that uncontrollable illegal mining influenced not only the population of the state but also its ecology.

“In Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Naodital, illegal mining is growing, especially at night. This is a threat not only for law and order and ecology, but also the safety of ordinary people.
He was also looking for the appropriate steps from the state government in this matter.
Mr. Kumar, Secretary of Untarakhand mining, who refuted Mr. Rawat’s demands that the state has set a new record in income growth through mining.
“The statement that illegal mining is growing is completely unfounded, false and misleading. I want to clean this material that cannot leave a place without proper permission. Also for trucks with mining materials that are true during the night, I want to clarify that the trucks must not exceed the city during the day.
Uttarakhand also issued a press release informing that for the first time, a total of 159 mining leases and 02 quartzing of silica sand were assigned and that the ministry received income of about 1,025 Crore in the financial year 2024-25.
“The mining department was to generate revenue of 875 GBP Crore, which we have already earned about 1,025 Crore to this day and is likely to earn more than 1,100 GBP by the end of the financial year,” added Mr. Kumar.
The accusation of the MP BJP and the anti -native state gave the opposition the opportunity to question “uncoordination” within the BJP and “zero tolerance policy” for corruption.

“His own deputies express concerns about corruption and poor proceedings in the BJP government in Uttarakhand. We raised concerns about illegal mining for a long time, and the ruling party always refused to reach them to call them insignificant and false.
He also demanded that the government take steps against mafia mining that intimidates officials and authorities who are hand -held with infamil gloves.
